Branson Missouri February 27th. 2013 Current Trout Fishing Report

Spring Break time is fast approaching us and for sure it is time for some family fishing fun on Beautiful lake Taneycomo.  This 26 mile stretch of the World Famious White River is Super Stocked with very nice Rainbow and Brown Trout and ready for fun for the entire family. White River Outfitters Guide Service has guided the pristine waters of the White River  at Branson Missouri for 22 yrs.  Fisherman of any ability will have a great day with us, taylored to your ability and style of fishing. Current Taneycomo Fishing Report 2-23-13 Guided 3 days this past week, even in the questionable weather.  First trip was a family trip for 3 with Ryan at 10 yrs. old being our top fisherman.  Mostly fished crawlers on White River drift rigs from Short Creek thru Lilleys' Landing Resort and Marina.  Ended the 4 hr. morning trip with 45 rainbow trout caught and released with some very nice 14 to 16 in fish in the days catch. Next trip we were fly fishing with Jim and Erma in the lower restricted zone.  Lots and lots of catch and release fish present from Casket Rock thru Fall Creek, with a total catch for the tour again in the 40 plus fish area, with Jim fishing a tandum nympth set catching 3 doubles.  Erma pretty much fished a scud and fished it well.  Size 16 on 6X rio.  She dead drifted the scud about 8 ft. under the indicator.  Jim was fishing a tandum of a 1/256 pink TJ micro with the same grey size 14 scud as the dropper.  He fished the micro as a dropped stimulator at the 8' depth and bounced the scud about 18" below it.  We missed a ton.  Nothing big with the best 2 fish at 16" but constant action. Yesterday I had Tony, Bud, and Lanny from Kansas.  Seemed like we worked for fish, but the boys kept a Super set of quality 14" rainbow trout for dinner.  Caught  32 rainbows, most coming on a jig and float or a trout magnet below Short Creek.  Just a harsh North with at 15 mph  made it seem quite a bit tougher than it was.  Try not to talk ever about fish we didn't catch, but Bud lost 2 at the back of the boat that were both over the 20" class.  Both bright silver rainbows that were very thick.  Thats fishin.
