Dropshot fish are hanging at the thermocliene witch is now at 28ft.  Some fish will work out to 42, depending on the depth of the bait, but a good starting point is the 26 to 30 range early and then chase them out as the light penetrates the surface.

I am using very natural looking jigs.  I am starting with a 3/8th oz Jewell football Jig and then adding a Chompers live rubber spider skirt, in Green Pumpkin, Watermellon Candy or Peanut butter and Jelly.  Trailer is either Yum, Yamamoto, or Chompers.  best colors are PBJ, Watermellon Candy, Green Pumpkin.

Fishing has also been on a complete roll with Table Rock Lake Bass Fishing being as good as it has been in several years.  Lots of Spotted Bass, and wonderful Smallmouth Bass Fishing.

Bass have been very active on Topwater baits with the surface temps at around 70 degree.  The bite is mostly early unless we get some overcast and then it will continue into the day.  Todd was just hammering them today on a Modified Redfin.  Bass after Bass busted the topwater, like it was food.

Modified Redfins, and other wakebaits have out produced the chuggers and walkers.

Most of our fish are suspended and rising to the topwaters in 100 plus feet of water off the bluffends early.  These are still either post or prespawn fish as not all our population has completely spawned out.

As the sun comes up there has been a very good shakyhead bite using a zoom watermellon candy cenipede.  This bite has been in the 17 to 23 ft. range, mostly for spawning Spotted Bass.

Table Rock Lake fishing patterns are starting to ease into post spawn.  Of course we still have fish on the beds, and staging fish, but there are lots of fish that have spawned and moved into a post spawn pattern of heavy feeding on Gizzard Shad.

Table Rock Lake Fishing Report for the Branson Area, including the Dam to Point 5.

Topwater wake baits or splash baits early, on bluffends or timbered points.  Post Spawn and Pre Spawn LM and K’s are staging and holding in these areas.  Slight wind on the location, will create better hookups than flat water.    Topwater bite is between 5 AM and 8 AM most mornings.  Swimming a Ctail grub on these same locations is also catching fish. Midmorning, swithch to the grub on flatter gravel points and banks for Smallmouth Bass

Point 5 to Campbell Point  Same patterns apply with the exception that there is some water in this stetch that you can fish the bottom.  Drag a zoom cenipede in watermellon candy or rig it on a shaky head for some nice K’s.

Campbell Point to Holiday Island  Excellent bottom bite with no moss for K’s and nice Smallmouth Bass dragging either a zoom fish dr. in watermellon candy or the cenipede.  also excellent cedar tree bite or bluffend bite for quality Largemouth bass early or on cloudy windy days.

River Arms, James, Longcreek, Kings River,  Jig bit is on as well as the tube and the rig bite.  Top water early off the major gravel flats, and then work the 1/2 oz football jig in the 6 to 20 ft. range in pockets and ledges, along with steeper spawning coves.  Colors include PBJ and Watermellon Candy as well as Green Pumpkin.

Branson Area Fishing for Largemount and Smallmouth Bass

Table Rock Lake Branson Missouri Current fishing report April 26th. 2010.  All three varities of Black  Bass are either pre-spawn or spawning on the Rock.  Current fishing patterns are early topwater, and then during the day using either a ctail grub or a shaky head worm where the moss will allow.  Also some nice fish are being caught on floating worms in the backs of the pockets.

Goggle Eye fishing is off the charts as these fisty little fellows are on the feed.

Kimberling City to either Cape Fair on the James River or Shell Knob on the White River, including the Baxter Area.

Women Bass Fishing

Surface temps at 63 to 65  Same Spawning patterns.  Best baits are Zara Spooks or Wake Baits early or on cloudy days, blending to either floating worms or 5 inch smoke grubs on 1/4 to 5/16th. heads.  Fish the wind where possible.

Branson Fishing Report Father Daughter

Shell Knob to Beaver Dam, including Roaring and Kings River, Surface temps at 62 to 66 degrees.  Wake baits early blending to either jigs, shaky heads, or carolina rigs during midday.  Largemouth bass on the outsides of the bluffends early on the wake baits.  Lots of small non-keeper fish shallow.  Better fish located in the 18 to 30 ft. range of the major lake points and gravel rolloffs.  Spawning and pre-spawn now occuring.

Fishing is excellent with 8 hr. full day guided fishing trips catch and releasing 50 fish in a normal outting.

Ryan, ran the topwater bait slowly past the exposed limbs of the cedar on a Table Rock Lake Bluffend.  An explosion of White water and a nice Table Rock Lake Largemouth Bass found the redfin.

Wake Baits are really in vogue on Table Rock lake the straight Redfin waker is perhaps the envy of them all.  This bait is modified with an Owner Roster Tail No. 2 on the rear, and a Diiachi Deathtrap in size 4 on the front.

Table Rock Lake Dam area had a couple of days this week that were really good on suspended stickbaits, the Spro McStick Blue Bandit was the leader, along with a custom painted Megabass in Norman Flake.

Swimming the grub, using a 4 or 5 inch ctail in either salt and pepper, or smoke pepper was a very good choice on the flat water.

Shell Knob, Missouri and the Eagle Rock, Mo. area fishing was very good with fish biting splitshot rigs and also the grubs.

Water Surface temps on Table Rock  Lake ran from main lake 54 degrees to the river arms at around 60.

Branson Mo. Spring Smallmouth Bass Fishing Table Rock Lake

As the rains fall, Table Rock continues to warm, ever so slightly.  River Arms running in the 60 degree temperature range with water clarity clearing.

River arms are starting to fish good for LM Bass and Spotted Bass with wiggle warts, and spinnerbaits.  Fish these baits on windy chunk rock banks in the Kings, James and Roaring River Arms.

Main Lake Table Rock is still running cool, with Surface temps in the mid-50’s.  Fish suspending stickbaits on bluffends transition banks and windy cove mouths and long points.

3 to 5 inch Ctail grubs are also catching fish lake wide in the clearer water.  Smoke, White, and Salt-in-Pepper seem to be the best colors fished on a 1/4 oz. Ball Jig head.   Same locations as the Stickbaits, only allow the grub to fall to the count of at least 15 before starting the retreve.

White Bass are being taken in very good numbers up all the rivers on Swimming minnows.  Crappie are still slow to start.

Upper Restricted Zone is still fishing very well early for Trophy catch and release fish.  White 1/8th. jig is still working best.

Lilleys’ Landing to Roark creek is also fishing quite well for excellent quality Rainbows in the 13 to 18 inch class.  Weather has been hit and miss as it is in Spring, but the fish are just tearing it up.

“Now for the Big Boys”  Kevin and Nate had just flat one of those days.  You have all heard the saying, “You should have been here yesterday?”  Today, was Yesterday for Nate and Kevin.  Over 25 Rainbows to the boat in the Upper Restricted area of Taneycomo, catch and release  and then 2 limits of very nice 14 inch fish for the grill thru the Branson Landing.

The Morning started with a wonderful sunrise and a magnificent setting of water coming thru Table Rock dam flood gates.

With 4 Flood Gates open and Shad a possibility, the 1/8th. oz White Jig Straight lined on 4 pound maxi using either a Shimano or Diawa Reel attached to a 6′ ultra lite St. Croix, was good medicine.

Joe and Martina Fritz, were my clients on March 23rd. 2010.  Started drifting powerbait on the bottom thru the area just adjacent to the Landing.  Covered the deep water cut with most baits being presented in the 22 to 28 ft. range.  Flo-Orange Power bait on a drift rig using very light tackle was the key.

March 24th. 2010, Fishing Report for the Branson Landing and Roark Creek, fishing with Andy and Delaney Gaston.

Delaney is only 8 yrs. old, and truly a very good fisherperson already.  Morning started with a jig and float fishing the wall just downstream from the Fish House.  We caught and released about a dozen very nice rainbows along the wall.

Moved to the mid-section drifting in  Front of the Branson Landing, and again fishing this deep water with drift rigs, we caught another dozen.

Moved to Roark and casted Kastmaster 1/4 oz. spoons to midging rainbows, ending the 6 hr. morning trip with over 60 catch and release fish.  Just a super day with the Father and Daughter team.
